fotofolk
Who are we?

fotofolk brings together photography enthusiasts who share a love for capturing moments, exchanging ideas, and enjoying friendly gatherings. Camera equipment aside, our members focus on the art of the image and the joy of camaraderie. As a self-help group rather than experts, we provide a welcoming, informal space to support each other and hone our photography skills.

What do we do?

We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. If you're interested in joining us, let us know, and we'll send you the details. During our meetings, we showcase photos taken over the past month, offer constructive critiques, and choose some to feature on our website. You can explore our previous works in the "open sections" of the Gallery tab (available for months prior to April 2025). Once you become a member, you'll have full access to our site. Following this, we either delve into training sessions and discussions on a photography topic or head out on a local excursion, wrapping up the outing with a shared lunch.

Can't attend in person, no problem, we welcome remote and virtual members too.

What can you learn from fotofolk?

Where should we begin? Whether it's mastering composition, exploring editing software and apps, showcasing your photos for maximum impact, diving into creative techniques, or efficiently managing your collection—like organizing with folders, transferring files, and sharing your work—we've got plenty to discover. And who knows? You might have a unique skill or insight to share with us too!

What Next?
Prospective members are invited to join up to three meetings as guests before making a decision to become part of our group. We're certain you'll enjoy the experience and feel inspired to become a valued member of our community.
